Gorgeous spot with beautiful sunset and sunrise views. The beach is beautiful and ok fishing. Right next to the train tracks so a bit of a sleepless night with the trains going through.

La mujer custodiana vino a nuestra furgoneta (un tránsito de Ford) y nos dijo que pensaba que nuestra tarjeta verde era falsa (aunque inspeccionada y emitida por NZMCA) quería ver nuestro trabajo de papel verificándolo. Le dijeron que podía comprobar en el registro en línea y ella dijo que no tenía su teléfono. También nos preguntó si éramos miembros de NZMCA así que tuvo que llevarla y señalar nuestro adhesivo y números. Ella quería entrar e inspeccionar nuestra instalación de baño. Y luego nos dijo que no se permiten "vans de deslizamiento" en este sitio.

Veo a algunos de los titewads quejarse sobre el Sandpit no ser libre. C'mon que significa, tu es vivir la vida de la libertad relativa, por lo que no sea tan miserable. Este lugar es increíble. Realmente amigable Custodians , Steve , Max y Barbara. Un día los pescadores comerciales serán prohibidos de violar la bahía , así que espere hasta entonces si usted está realmente ansioso para obtener pescado. Es difícil ir ahora. Beautiful beachside campground. Well maintained, clean, and large clearly marked sites. Friendly and really helpful hosts. Direct access to beach. Dog friendly. Allowed my brother and his wife to stay for lunch at no extra charge. Only accepts cash. Will definitely be back. Dog thought he was in heaven

We stopped here to cook lunch on our way past. What a lovely place, on the beach and very happy for us to stop for an hour at no charge! Beautifully kept up! Thank you team.

Close to beach, plenty of room. Tidy site. Trains are a bit noisy but don’t come thru often.

Nice spot right on the beach. Unfortunately there is some permanent campers residing there who have noisy generators going at all times of the day and up to 10.30pm. We noted that they were NZMCA members but had no regard for the rules
