Got there about 5.30 pm, 3 campers already there. You have to park between the signs, spaces for 4. We had to wait till the walkers moved their car to park in the last spot. Not flat. Very calm and no noise at night. Clean toilets and sink.

Wow! Great free campground! Just under the Mt. Manaia where the hike begins. Very quiet, you can hear kiwi there (I had no luck to see them). Felt safe as female solo traveler 😊

Loved This place! Basic with one loo but comfortable enough. Quiet and peaceful at the base of the hike. The club next door is so friendly and welcoming to visitors, we went in for drink and game of pool. Fish and chip shop 10 min walk away was decent too. Overall great free camp for one night

Parking in front of the Mount. Approx. 4 véhicules. Quiet and nice view. Toilets 24h/24h. Clean but no lights. Max 1 night stay. Nice pub near by.

Lugar muy cool!! Estuvimos solos por la noche, no probamos el bar al lado, pero parecía muy amigable. Los baños están limpios y abiertos toda la noche, no hay basura en el lugar. El día siguiente hicimos la caminata al monte Manaia y fue increíble! En resumen: gran sitio para comenzar su caminata ahaha y hermosa vista

Muy tranquilo, nada en el pub al lado de nosotros. Ubicación perfecta si usted está haciendo la caminata de la cumbre en la mañana. No hay bahías designadas sólo tiene que encajar los vehículos entre dos signos. Facilidad 3 coches. Baños en el lugar, muy limpio y abierto 24/7

We enjoyed this spot. It is closed to the road, cars passing by through the night didn't bother us at all. We were spoiled with euphonious sounds coming from the nearby club. Two picnic benches and clean toilets. Our stay here was concluded with a very scenic morning walk up Mt. Manaia.
