Embandond. Rlly terrible campsite, looks like it hasn’t seen any matenence in years. The grass is so overgrown there wouldn’t be anywhere to camp anyways. Really desmil and sad. I moved on and decided to find somewhere else as this place was rlly poor and sketchy.. :(

The outhouse is located in the middle of the woods, about 200 meters from the campsite, and you have to cross a small river to get there (the path is paved, but the water still flows across). We had very few sandflies. Locals were also there, playing music and making a fire (it was a Friday, so that was probably the reason). Overall, it was perfectly fine for one night. Hiking was also possible from there. The downside: no cell service.

We arrived late a night and were completely alone! Nice campsite! Lots of sandflies - we didn't spend much time outside..

Be careful, the barrier was closed with a padlock and it was indicated closed for the winter, so we had to go much further to Okaihau.

Wanted to stay there for the night. Apart from the fact that you have to walk around 200m to the toilets on that path are a lot of holes filled with water and also a river with a concrete path, but 10cm under water…

The restrooms are on the other side of the river; you can't drive over them, and in heavy rain, you can't walk over them either. The campground was pretty wet and muddy; you couldn't drive on it. We parked in the roundabout at the entrance, where there was gravel and rocks. No cell reception.

Pacífico, perfecto para una parada nocturna tranquila - las estrellas eran increíbles ya que se siente como si estuviera en medio de una selva. Pero hay que advertirse si ha llovido en los últimos días (o quizás sólo en otoño / invierno) no se puede cruzar el arroyo a los baños. Todavía se puede aparcar en el barranco cerca de la entrada, había mucho espacio libre. También era un local super amigable que se detuvo para una charla de la mañana.

Muchos mosquitos en otoño, nos fuimos.

Hay un signo que dice que las instalaciones están cerradas (todavía se puede llegar al baño a pie, pero hay que cruzar un río, es un poco deslizante pero está bien).

Hermoso lugar boscoso con toneladas de espacio. Los tobillos fueron comidos vivos por los insectos, recomiendo calcetines / botas. NO conduzca su coche a través del arroyo hasta el baño ya que hay un enorme, ineludible agujero en el otro lado. Necesitará caminar a través de la placa de hormigón, a través del agua (aproximadamente 6" de profundidad al máximo). Algunos ruido de tráfico pero no malo.
