Pequeño sitio junto al lago. Pienso que quizás 10 vehículos pueden aparcar sin sobrepoblarse. Las moscas eran un problema, pero simplemente trae su spray. Justo al lado del lago y 3 opciones para caminar. Buena señalización en la ubicación. Drop WC es lo que esperas. Muy tranquilo por la noche. Si está demasiado ocupado o demasiadas moscas, el camping 7km por la carretera es una buena alternativa. Mucho más espacios por ahí. No hay señal, así que si vas a descargar mapas de antemano.

El lago es increíblemente hermoso, pero el sitio es sólo un aparcamiento ordinario sin ninguna vista. El baño no es el mejor pero usable. Planificamos quedarse aquí por la noche, pero debido a la gran cantidad de mosquitos que decidimos mover... Todavía recomendamos altamente visitar el lago, también la caminata a través del bosque al punto de vista es increíble! Para llegar allí tienes que conducir una carretera de barro de 20 km, pero está en buen estado y debería estar bien para casi cualquier vehículo. No hay señal.

Estuve aquí por una noche y fue hermoso! Hay un baño de gotas, bancos de picnic y agua que necesita ser hervida antes de consumir. Está cerca de una granja de cerdos y está a sólo 6 km del lago Hauroko! Como una cabeza arriba, es una larga carretera de barro para llegar a este sitio. Las moscas no eran demasiado malas. Muchos lugares para aparcar.

Us and one other van stayed much closer to the lake last night, there are two grass, muddy pull-ins. Was lovely. Very peaceful but more sandflies as closer to the water. Also that area is under CCTV, but fine if you don't mind that. Rained over night and other van nearly got bogged, so be careful. Find us on Instagram if you like @twoguysvanlife and @saltyskin

Nice and clean simple grassy campsite. No frills but we liked it also because it’s close to lake Hauroko and has less sandflies ... Because the Lake has tons of them ... Btw if you don’t like mice don’t park too close to the woods. The tiny cute things checked us out quickly to see if there was something to eat. They didn’t stay around for long tho. Probably best to keep food well packed up.

Super hike! Plan hiking boots, it does not hurt! We did it in 2h30, the view at the top is great, worth seeing. You can even sleep on the spot before or after!

The track to the lookout (3hr return) is definitely recommended. It’s very steep towards the stop and mucky in parts. A little tough if you’re not too fit but worth it!

The 3hr track to the lookout is very steep and pretty hard to climb, but definitely worth it! Very nice 180 degree view. If you're in good shape you'll probably need less than 3hrs. The bush walk is... Well, a bush walk. Nice but nothing special. Still, if you have time you should definitely check out this lake!

Currently very wet and some complicated river passages, it climbs well and it's slippery. You will not see anyone!

The Bluff Lookout Track (3 hours return) is very nice :) We did it in 2 hours. Be prepared to climb slippery roots. Very remote and quiet. Great lookout over the lake and mountains from the bluff.
