Only 4 spots so arrive early, we stayed one night late April and were the 3rd spot at around 4pm! All 4 full by 7pm. Quiet location, felt safe, police were around on the morning but no bother they seemed to be checking things were quiet? Robo toilet other end of the car park, open during daylight hours. Nice reserve and bike tracks nearby. Good view of Kapiti Island

Great place to stay, very calm and quiet during the night (even on a saturday night). Locals were friendly and had a chat. We had a stunning sunset and saw some beautiful birds. There was a clean toilet which even played music haha.

Very lovely campsite with a clean robo-toilet nearby! The toilet appeared to be closed after 8pm.

Pretty cool spot, decent toilets. Only problem, some local kids came up to us to tell us that at 8pm people would come and ask us for money to stay on the pitch. Of course it's false and it was meant to scare us, but we left because we didn't want to be bothered and disturbed during the evening.

Lugar muy limpio. llegamos a las 6pm y estaba vacío. 4 lugares para Campersite gratis. Y los baños están en la entrada.

Un poco desagradable quizás pero después de la libertad de acampar alrededor de Nueva Zelanda durante 8 semanas, este fue mi lugar favorito! me quedé dos veces - una vez a finales de febrero y luego de nuevo a principios de abril. en febrero, llegué a las 1pm y los 4 puntos estaban llenos a las 5pm; en abril todavía había espacios libres toda la noche. Es absolutamente asombroso caminar mirando el río, el estuario y luego el mar justo al otro lado de las dunas de arena.

Las únicas 4 plazas se toman rápidamente. Una buena y quizás mejor alternativa es Otaki Beach.

At 6 p.m. all places are full or overcrowded. We won't take the risk of a $400 fine.
