Hooker Valley Track is still closed from the 2nd bridge onwards. However still very much worth it, with incredible views of Mt. Cook. Parking is $5 per hour or $25 for the day (until 11.59pm). You can scan the QR code on the signs or there are metres. People also parked on the side of the road before the entrance. Toilets on site.
Beautiful flat but sadly short walk because of the closure after 2 km.Good to connect with Kea point if you don't wanna go for the best views up to Sealy tarns or even better continue to Mueller Hut.
I'm in love with this place. The track is just amazing and the view you get on Mount Cook is the best of the best. It's a must do in nz
Very easy walk for 3 hours AR, a magnificent view all along the route! Ideally at the end of the morning so as not to have too much mist! :)
Pretty easy walk along a well maintained trial. Stunning views you won’t see anywhere else regardless of the weather. Absolute must do!
Beautiful walk to Hooker lake to see Aoraki in all her glory. Nothing overly strenuous but bear in mind you’re technically in backcountry here. As you walk along the trail look up towards the Footstool from Mueller Lake and see if you can see Sefton bivy. Some hardy souls hike up and stay overnight up there. There were about 12 kea at the Lake when I went (Jan 25). Make sure you report any sightings to the kea database https://keadatabase. Nz/. They’re obviously very intelligent birds and I spent about 45 minutes just watching them watch me. Be sure to check out the alpine memorial on your way back along the trail. These mountains demand our respect.
Amazing walk! Easy but definitely will need the 3 hours return. Bring a lunch and at the lake there is a nice picnic table area.
