Kis hely a tó mentén. Azt hiszem, talán 10 járművet lehet parkolni anélkül, hogy túlzsúfolt lenne. A homoktövisek problémát jelentenek, de csak hozza meg a spray-t. Közvetlenül a tó mellett és 3 lehetőség a túrázáshoz. Jó jelzés a helyszínen. A WC-csepp az, amit elvár. Nagyon csendes éjszaka. Ha túl elfoglalt vagy túl sok légy, a kemping 7km az úton egy jó alternatíva. Sok több hely van. Nincs jel, így ha előzetesen letöltheti a térképeket.

A tó hihetetlenül szép, de a helyszín csak egy hétköznapi parkoló anélkül, hogy bármilyen kilátás. A WC nem a legjobb, de használható. Úgy terveztük, hogy itt maradjon az éjszakára, de azért, mert a hatalmas mennyiségű homoktövisek úgy döntöttünk, hogy mozog... Még mindig nagyon ajánlom látogatás a tó, is a túra az erdőben, hogy a kilátáspont lenyűgöző! Ahhoz, hogy oda kell vezetni egy 20 km-es kavicsos úton, de ez jó állapotban van, és rendben kell lennie szinte minden jármű. Nincs jel.

Itt maradtam egy éjszakára, és csodálatos volt! Van egy csepp WC, piknik padok, és a víz, hogy meg kell forralni, mielőtt fogyasztani. Ez mellett egy szarvasmarhafarm és csak 6 km-re a Hauroko-tó! Ahogy fejjel fel, ez egy hosszú kőzetes út, hogy ezt a helyet. A homoktövisek nem voltak túl rosszak. Sok helyet parkolni.

Us and one other van stayed much closer to the lake last night, there are two grass, muddy pull-ins. Was lovely. Very peaceful but more sandflies as closer to the water. Also that area is under CCTV, but fine if you don't mind that. Rained over night and other van nearly got bogged, so be careful. Find us on Instagram if you like @twoguysvanlife and @saltyskin

Nice and clean simple grassy campsite. No frills but we liked it also because it’s close to lake Hauroko and has less sandflies ... Because the Lake has tons of them ... Btw if you don’t like mice don’t park too close to the woods. The tiny cute things checked us out quickly to see if there was something to eat. They didn’t stay around for long tho. Probably best to keep food well packed up.

Super hike! Plan hiking boots, it does not hurt! We did it in 2h30, the view at the top is great, worth seeing. You can even sleep on the spot before or after!

The track to the lookout (3hr return) is definitely recommended. It’s very steep towards the stop and mucky in parts. A little tough if you’re not too fit but worth it!

The 3hr track to the lookout is very steep and pretty hard to climb, but definitely worth it! Very nice 180 degree view. If you're in good shape you'll probably need less than 3hrs. The bush walk is... Well, a bush walk. Nice but nothing special. Still, if you have time you should definitely check out this lake!

Currently very wet and some complicated river passages, it climbs well and it's slippery. You will not see anyone!

The Bluff Lookout Track (3 hours return) is very nice :) We did it in 2 hours. Be prepared to climb slippery roots. Very remote and quiet. Great lookout over the lake and mountains from the bluff.
