Beautiful spot for an off-grid experience. Probably not as many spots as advertised (especially in wet weather), but if it’s not too busy, you’ll get a beautiful quiet spot for the night.

Come affollato, il sito web DOC sembra avere più spazi elencati di camper / rimorchi / auto possono effettivamente adattarsi. Non aiuta quando le persone non parcheggiano in modo efficiente in modo che gli altri possano adattarsi. Fa il lavoro per una notte quando si passa attraverso, ma non vale $ 15pp per notte, molti altri siti DOC sono così molto meglio. Si otterrà un sacco di mosche in questa zona di NZ quindi essere preparati con bug spray quando si visita!

I didn't like it at all. I've been to several campsites across the South Island, and this is the most expensive one I've paid for, and it has no amenities whatsoever, not even soap or hand sanitizer. Other free places had those things. It was really bad and full of mosquitoes.

Somehow way more people then the maximum amount of camperspots. Toilets were ok. Below average for a DOC campingspot

Nice spot, nothing spectacular but all fine. Lots of sandflies.

Beautiful spot as described. Noone here - until someone else rocks up at 8pm, parking 2m away.! We ignored the banging & pump noises, going to sleep at 10 - to be woken up 45 mins later by their outside light left on shining right in our window... I moved. They'd gone by early morning.  3rd time in 2 weeks folks have come in late & squeezed in when there's plenty of other space. Guys please just pay DOC fees and contribute to NZ conservation. And space, sheesh - please!

Ottimo posto. Bella vista. Se si oserà si può fare un tuffo nel lago vicino. I bagni sono buoni.

Luogo molto occupato e congestivo le sere, OK per un soggiorno di una notte, un sacco di area di erba per piantare una tenda ma non si può portare un veicolo ai siti in modo da finire per portare tutto. bagni puliti, grande copertura mobile. Un posto pittoresco... se non ti importa le mosche
