One of the coolest things ive ever seen! A real abandoned and non tourist site. There is still coal in the carts from when they stopped running in 1963. You have to access it from Millerton. Check out the historic Millerton bath house while you are there.
Super cool tunnel. There's a view from th little white bridge of a water fall, we walked up that way (about 10+ mins one way) but I think you can get a lot closer if you drive though the 'town' Milton and closer to the entrance. Very damp and slippy, definitely wear good shoes. Lots of mine carts which was cool. Friends didn't want to go too far in since they were only in flipflops but I think it would have been so awesome, a spooky walk once you're in there! lots of little things to see so explore the little walk ways ?
Very nice ! It is possible to walk on the rails (be careful when it rains .... it slips a lot) and visit the tunnels (don't forget your flashlight)
Awesome small track to the mines. I did the way into the tunnel with sandals and it was alright, worth to go, you can see where they have stopped it.
Whether it is worth the detour?! Alone, I did not want to go into the tunnel. Think about it, if you want to do that. At first I did not find the right way and at the end of the road I took the path to the left of the waterfall .... Right it goes to the Millerton Inclide way. Unfortunately, there are no signs.
We can see old wagons on the track, but you have to trespass to go into the mines, we didn't want to take the chance. If we had known in advance, we would not have made the detour
Awesome to see some old coal waggons. Don‘t forget your torch if you wanna go inside the mine (only 100m till the end). Don‘t miss that on your way around ;)
Really cool! Beautiful 5 minute walk takes you around the dam and to the incline. Over the fence you can enter the cave but be careful.
