If you’ve been travelling with CamperMate for a while, and you're an iOS user, you might notice that things look a little different next time you open the app.
That's because we’re excited to announce the launch of the new CamperMate app for iOS, rebuilt from the ground up to make road tripping easier, faster and more enjoyable than ever.
Our new Android version is currently in development and will be rolling out sometime soon, so Android users, hang tight - you’ll get access to all the same great updates soon.
Whether you’re a weekend camper, a full-time vanlifer, or planning your first Aussie or Kiwi road trip, the new CamperMate app is designed to make your journey smoother from start to finish.

Over the past few years, we’ve listened closely to your feedback. Thousands of users have shared reviews, survey responses and in-app comments - all helping us understand what matters most to you.
The message was clear. You wanted a faster, easier-to-use app that helps you find what you need with fewer taps and smarter tools.
Since CamperMate first launched more than a decade ago, technology (and travel habits) have evolved. So, in early 2025, our team decided it was time to modernise CamperMate with cleaner design, and smarter search features, while keeping everything you love about the app intact.
Our goal? To create a platform that grows with you - one that can continuously improve based on your feedback.
💖 What’s Stayed the Same
While the design and performance have had a major upgrade, the heart of CamperMate hasn’t changed.
You’ll still find:
- The same trusted database of great places to stay, explore, and stock up.
- The same map-led experience that makes discovering hidden gems easy.
- The same booking options you know and trust.
- The same community-driven reviews and local tips from fellow travellers.
And, of course, the same love for road trip adventures that CamperMate was built on.

The new CamperMate app has been redesigned with speed, simplicity and smarter search in mind. Here are some of the biggest changes you’ll notice:
🔍 Smarter Search and Filters
Finding your perfect campsite, holiday park or roadside stop has never been easier.
You can now:
Use multi-select filters to find exactly what you’re after - from free and paid campsites to pet-friendly spots and amenities like toilets, showers or Wi-Fi.
Search smarter, with text search that scans across place names, descriptions, categories and locations.
Enjoy dual search modes - explore via map or list view, or use geographic and text search together for precision.
🗺️ Improved Offline Maps and Data
We know reception can drop out when you’re in the middle of nowhere so we’ve improved our offline maps to make sure you’re never lost.
Just download the maps you need before your trip and explore with confidence, even when you’re off-grid.
We've also introduced offline mode. If you download what you need before you're offline, you'll still have access to all of the listing information and reviews if the language of your choice.
🌏 More Languages, More Travellers
CamperMate is now available in 27 languages, welcoming travellers from around the world to hit the road across Australia and New Zealand with the same easy experience.
💬 Better Reviews and Community Features
Our refreshed reviews section makes it easier to read and contribute community tips. You’ll see more translated reviews, photos and honest advice from other travellers, and it’s easy to add your own.
🔐 Simplified Account Options
You can now sign up or log in using Google or Apple, as well as your email. Sign-in isn’t mandatory, but it’s recommended if you want to save favourites, sync them across devices and receive personalised recommendations for your trips.

We know change can take a moment to get used to, so here are some of the most common questions we’ve received about the new app:
Why does the app look different?
We’ve given CamperMate a redesign to make it faster, cleaner, and easier to navigate. You’ll find smarter search tools, better filters, and more detailed information to help you plan your trip your way.
I liked the old CamperMate - why did you change it?
You told us you wanted a smoother experience and better tools for finding what you need. The new version is built with better technology so we can keep improving for years to come.
Where did my saved places go?
They’re still here! You’ll find all your favourites under Saved Places in the left-hand menu - and you can even filter the map to show only your saved spots.
Why are no results showing on my map?
Try zooming out or clearing your filters. CamperMate now hides filters that don’t match your current map view, so expanding your search area usually does the trick.
Why don’t all campsites have booking links?
We’re constantly adding more bookable listings every day, but some campsites choose not to take online bookings. When you see contact details or booking links, those are verified CamperMate listings.
