Beautiful spot but not very flat. We saw a couple of the bigger camper vans having trouble with the uneven ground and getting stuck in the sand. Best to arrive during the daylight. The toilets are a bit far away from freedom camp and are now closed but there are temporary portable toilets.

We would definitely recommend this campsite - a lovely stay with a very welcoming couple. They shared some of their delicious fresh fruit with us and showed us their amazing garden that you stay in.
Location was 20 min walk into Paihia , facilities clean but the woman working clearly had a problem with young girls staying in the campsite and was very unwelcoming. Made comments insinuating things just because we were young women. Very condescending and patronising and felt watched the entire time we were there. Such a shame as the place was actually nice but won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend to young females. The shower also was $2 for five minutes of hot water, even though we paid almost
