Anaura Bay Lookout Walk

The loop track allows for walking in either direction, with the ideal starting point at the entrance on the true right bank of the stream in the northern part of the recreation reserve, indicated by a walkway sign. Upon crossing a stile, the path meanders through vibrant coastal forest teeming with diverse birdlife. Ascending briefly through a farm paddock, hikers reach a ridge saddle offering breathtaking panoramic vistas of Anaura Bay, Motuoroi Island, and the southern coastline.

The trail then gracefully descends through valleys adorned with pine trees, veering left off the vehicle track into the scenic reserve. Following the course of the Waipare Stream bed, trekkers find themselves beneath the lush canopy of native bush, emerging once more into the recreation reserve, completing the loop.
