Nice tranquil little spot. No phone reception and no toilets, which is fine if you come prepared. We entered from Parachilna and there are rubbish and recycling bins provided along the way. Didn't realise it was the start of the Heysen trail which was fun to find out! We saw some cute little goats climbing up the steep mountains; and the cicada sounds made such a lovely atmosphere. Lots of tiny flys that love to hang around your face so come prepared with a net of some sort (:

We stopten bij Hensley Rest Area en brachten hier een prachtige nacht door. Super rustig en de hemel was geweldig! Er is een grote watertank die u kunt gebruiken als een douche, tafels en een uitleg van wat inheemse mensen deden op deze plek 😍 it's hond vriendelijk de weg is allemaal grind met rotsen maar we hebben erin geslaagd om het te doen met onze Mitsubishi express zonder problemen.

If coming from Blinman, ignore rest area on RHS with bins. Continue for another km or so and you will be spoilt for choice! Lovely gorge and plenty of camp spots. Road is very corrugated but we took our time and managed with mobile home with no problems.

Fantastic. So many places to stop and camp, give yourself enough light to drive up and down the road alongside the wide alluvial flats and scout out where you want to set up. There’s plenty of terraces up off the river channel proper where there shade.

Nice spot in the middle of the gorge. Not many shady spots but it’s beautiful. Water tank but no bins. 10000000 flies and very windy but so quiet! Had a great night. The gravel road from Blinman to Parachilna is not too bad.

Park your vehicle and take the Heysen trail along the river it's a couple of hours each way. Then at night watch the sunset

Fantastic spot. Stayed 5 nights. Could have stayed longer. Blinman has a wonderful bakery and great mine tour. You can camp in many spots along the gorge, not just here. It was great to walk the beginning of the Heyson Trail too. NEVER camp in a creek bed in the Flinders. It flooded while we were there and we saw why. Great to watch it raise and fall.

Great place to spend at least one night. There’s plenty of places to camp for several kilometers along the banks of the river. There was a lot of rain for several days before we arrived, and there was water still over the road, which had been closed for a few days.

This was a great free spot to stay at for the night. Right off the road but was very quiet for us. Beautiful sunrise in the morning also.

Excellent place for one night! We camped 800 meters before in front of a parallel poster. This place is 11 km from the route entering a dirt road, use my Mazda 323 (Auto) handles slowly and you arrive safe ... It is good for a tent!
