Good space to pull up and park for the night. Flat, hard ground, great for vans. The $5 hot shower was amazing, especially after cold, wet days. Friendly staff.

Not very clear where to park. If you are coming from the highway park this side of the tavern. Only about 3 other camper vans, but space for a few more. Flat hard ground. You could pay for showers $5 a person. Owner was a bit blunt.

Good little spot to the side of the Tavern. Dump station, water refill and recycling station. Quiet little town, we popped in to the tavern for a drink, looked after by a lovely lady behind the bar, she even brought our food out to us in the van while we set up our bed in the van.

Didn't spend the night here but leaving a review as we found the shower super convenient and clean ($5 unlimited hot water) and the pub very welcoming. Thank you!

Goede plek voor een overnachting. De parkeerplaats is groot en toen we verbleven, waren er slechts een paar andere vans. De $ 5 douches zijn geweldig; schoon en onbeperkt. Er is ook een openbaar toilet ongeveer 2 minuten lopen weg als je het nodig hebt na de pub sluit.

Very good, in the bar parking lot with showers for $5. Pub toilets and therefore only open until 10 p.m.... Dump Point just across the street! Very good for one or two nights

Tokanui free campground (1 July 2025) has a solid rock base, not muddy. Next to a tavern that opens at 11 AM. Public shower may not be accessible early—we didn’t use it as the tavern was closed when we woke. Across the road is a public dump station and potable water. Originally heading to Fortrose, but it was too muddy due to the rain(it’s winter now)—Tokanui is just 15–20 km away. Toilets are open and clean. Recommended spot, and you can tip via the PDS tip box. De openbare toiletten zijn gesloten, op toiletten die door de pub worden verstrekt.

Veel ruimte en onbeperkte warme douche ($5) maar de huurder was niet vriendelijk en we voelden ons absoluut niet welkom. Toiletten zijn aan het einde van de weg als de taverne biedt ze niet voor campers. Goed genoeg voor een nacht, maar het kan erg lawaaierig zijn omdat de parkeerplaats direct naast de bar.

Het personeel in de taverne was vriendelijk en voor $ 5 konden we een warme douche krijgen.
