Mooie plek om de nacht door te brengen! Een beetje lawaaierig als we aankomen rond 4pm maar toen was het rustig.
The spot looks different to the pictures. It's more a kind of a roundabout close to the mainroad. UnfortunatelyI can't upload any photos but if you check on google maps you will see. The road was a bit busy during the day but quiet in the night. Toilet were very dirty. Only 4 spots available. But nice grass, old treea ans picnic areas available.
Great place to stay for the night. Only room for 4-5 vans (if people park properly). We were the first to get there at 5 and it filled up quickly. Some people stayed in the parking lot not in the designated spots and didn’t seem to have a problem. Very nice river right next to it, great for swimming. One bathroom which was in fine condition. Beautiful grassy lawn, big trees, bird song, picnic tables. We were very happy to have found this spot.

Dit is een prachtige vrijheidsplek vlakbij een schone rivier en een pub. Er is een zeer schoon, goed onderhouden toilet. De vrijheidsplek kan gelukkig 4 middelgrote vans / campers of 5 kleinere passen. We kwamen midden in de week om 4pm en er was ruimte voor 1 extra van die een uur later werd genomen en vervolgens bij 4 voertuigen werd het gevuld.
We kwamen rond 18:00 op vrijdag (ook een openbare vakantie) en er was nog ruimte voor ongeveer 3 extra vans. De badkamer is schoon. Er is geen water. De rivier is mooi en er is een groot grasgebied om uit te hangen. Het was rustig 's nachts.
Official space is for just 5-6 smaller vans crammed in side-by-side. Probably need to be early to claim one. We missed out (6pm Tuesday early feb). Looks like a nice good spot with a river swim and pub nearby. Nothing else free nearby: must go to Whitianga, or pay ~$85 for an unpowered site at either Hahei Resort campground or Hot Water beach paid camps.
Our first freedom camping experience and it was a great spot! The stream was great for swimming, the pub across the bridge was really good and the drop toilets weren’t offensive at all. Would recommend this spot.
Nice place with the river and picnic tables. There is a toilet, but it smells really, really bad. Lots of cars and truck stopping by to use the toilet in the evening, but calm at night.
Really nice place to stay! There is no water, but at least there is a toilet.
