I really love the park and the beach. Parking is free, even with a van. The surroundings are beautiful and well-kept. I don't understand the comment below. I don't have a dog, but it seemed very dog-friendly. Dozens of dogs were running along the beach. If you arrive before 12:30 p.m., you can get a delicious coffee from the coffee cart and enjoy it on the beach.

Nice little park and boardwalk. However extremely dog unfriendly. Heaps of rubbish including nitrous oxide gas canisters and broken bottles strewn all over car park seem to be more welcome than dogs ?‍♀️

Enjoy great walk in this big garden

Very nice stop for a family with 3 children. A great park with a pool in the playground, a little train, coffee and ice cream, even a toilet and a nice walk to the beach.

The picture is indeed a bit misleading to my opinion as it doesn't show the port that is right next to it and unfortunately brings some unrelaxing noise. Though nice stop if you don't expect an exotic beach. We passed by on our way to Christchurch and it was a quiet working day. I can imagine with more people on it, it can have a better atmosphere.

Yes there is the commercial port but it is still very nice ! Only a bit noisy but the beach is really nice. People were swimming and there are a lot of games for children in the park

Stopped here for lunch. Nice beach but I probably wouldn't make a special trip unless you're passing through.

Sorry, but how can someone think this beach is beautiful?? Dirty, built up and horrible view over the container port!!
