Campplatsen är trevlig (7pm till 9am, men ingen bryr sig), flush toaletterna är stängda eftersom det inte finns något vatten i tankarna för flushing, en drop toalett är tillgänglig dock. Vandringarna är fantastiska ( rekommenderar högt Lake Rere loop). Vägen att komma dit är grus men okej. Den 2nd ford är en otäck en. Du kommer att göra det i lätt, problemet är att återvända. Du behöver bra clearance på stötarna. Skulle inte rekommendera det om du kör en motorcykel eller om du är en nybörjare förare, eftersom du kommer att fastna i

Bra ställe före en tramp, vägen som leder upp här är grus, har flera forder och potholes. Carpark har flush loos och slam för att tvätta händerna.

Trevligt ställe att sova innan början av den stora promenaden.Vi hittade bruna glasögon i början av greenstone loop spår. vi lämnade dem på hytten på campingen.

Remote and quiet! Gravel road is fine, 3 fords as mentioned but these go down as quickly as they go up. No large campervans recommended for road. We parked here to stay one night and then left the van for 4 nights during our Routeburn/Greenstone tramp. Flush toilets were locked when we arrived, on return they were open - the long drop is always available. Lovely stream nearby for a dip.

Took us about an 45 minutes to get there from the top of the lake and involved crossing 3 small fords, which was easy in the summer. Check the weather before as signal is non-existent there and the fords can make you extend your stay. Nice carpark equipped with flush toilets near some great fishing and tramping!

This is truly in the middle of nowhere and the road to get out isn’t great.

Awesome spot if you want to do the Lake Rere loop day walk (4-6hrs). Great swimming spot 5 mins down the road. Flushing loos woohoo, thanks DOC! Be aware that the carpark gets full. It hadn't rained for a week or so when we went and the fords were just about ok in our hiace.

We made it to the river, and you can’t even see where the road starts again. Not safe!

Okay campsite at the beginning of some tracks, flush toilets are closed during winter time. The road was good, you do need to pass 3 small rivers but I passed without a problem with a Toyota estima (in good weather conditions)

Thanks for the nice toilets, tom! Apart from a lot of sandflies a nice and remote stop with nice and clean flushing toilets. We made the crossing of 3 little rivers without a 4WD in fine weather, worked perfectly fine. In bad weather it‘s risky. About a 1.15 hour drive to routeburn.
