Very remote spot with basically no reception, but that’s part of the charm. Beautiful night sky for stargazing. Large kitchen and a nice common room. You can rent dishes for a small deposit, which is understandable since things probably get lost or not cleaned. Long drop toilets but they were clean, and there are showers (hot costs extra, cold is free). Very close to Wharariki Beach. Some of the other reviews here seem a bit harsh – it feels like the best has been made of a very remote location.

Trevligt läge, men inte värt $ 120 för en kraftlös plats. Smutsiga bärbara toaletter och ett smutsigt kök, duschar kostar $ 2 för 5 minuter, ingen skräpinsamling eller dumpstation. Wi-Fi är $ 10 för 1 GB och det finns ingen mobilreception. Ägaren rider ofta en bullrig motorcykel genom campingen. Stranden är vacker, men det finns en offentlig parkeringsplats i närheten, så att stanna över natten är inte nödvändigt.

Värsta campingen någonsin! Det finns inget bra att säga. Du betalar så mycket för campingen men allt kostar extra. Dumptoaletter, ingen cellulärtjänst, inga soptunnor och Wi-Fi kostar $ 10 per 1 GB och kan bara användas i receptionen, inte i ditt fordon.

Fördelar: nära till stranden, stort läger kök, främre killen är vänlig, massor av promenader i området, trevlig och grön. Nackdelar: Drop toaletter, ljussensorer i duschen sista 5min och stäng av när du duschar, toalettljus varar 2min, platser nära varandra, inga soptunnor, betalda duschar, ingen crockery/cutlery tillhandahålls behöver hyra, ugnar behöver lättare att arbeta, café har musik spelar 9-6pm så ingen tystnad under dagen, toalettdörrar slam och kan höras genom platsen, några kille rider sin motorcykel fram och tillbaka

Lugnet på denna vackra plats har förstörts av värden som går tillbaka och ut från sitt boende / verkstad genom campingplatsen till mottagningen på sin motorcykel hela dagen.

Nice campsite with good facilities, area is slightly remote and you have to pay for showers on top of campsite fee. Limited phone signal.

This campsite was very disappointing. The place is extremely run-down and poorly maintained. There are only pit toilets, and the showers are in bad condition and cost extra. There is no mobile network at all, and Wi-Fi is only available for an additional fee. There is also no option to dispose of general waste. On top of that, the staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. Overall, not recommended.

Nice camping only a short walk from Wharariki Beach, barely phone signal but you can buy 1 GB for 10 NZD and the Wifi works around the reception and the near by cafe, hot showers for 2 NZD, one laundry machine and one dryer, nice kitchen area and common room, no flush toilets but facilities are clean.

Stayed over for the new year. In a stunning location with access to some of the best walks in New Zealand, worth the stay on its own. The drive there is beautiful too but the last road is gravel but not awful! Site has good facilities, toilets, shower, cold washing and kitchen. No signal until you venture out from the grounds. $10 for 1gb of wifi seems like a ripoff to me but didn’t use it, the seclusion was a welcome change.

Stunning location, lovely welcome from the owner, everything well explained as to what to expect on site. Such good value given the remote location and beautiful beach. Definitely a favourite.
