I was rudely awoken at 3am by someone banging and shaking the van before proceeding to scream f*ck off then jumping back in their car and blasting the horn. As a solo female traveller I wouldn’t recommend it left me quite shaken up!

Our car got damaged with traffic cones on a friday night, by a boy group at 2am - called the police 3 times. They skreamed things Like „wake up motherf****s“.

I was staying there 27.11. , I arrived first and then 2 more vans came. There was one old Maori guy hanging out around on his bike, was talking to me for a while. If there is no other campers I would leave. Both of Toilets were surpassingly closed during the night from 6pm.

It’s a free space, and it helped a lot, as there are not many places on the road southwards. (It was already late) I felt a bit bad, as the marked field was too small for the length of my campervan. But no one bothered. It’s a calm place with a very good bakery not even 5min of it. Yes there are passing cars but not lot of traffic. I didn’t use the public toilets (my van is self contained). There’s a playground and a japanese garden nearby as well.

We felt insecure. When we were driving to the place we saw three people in a big fight in the middle of the road. one girl took a big stick of her car. It was in the road near to the carpark. It was late and we were tired so we stayed because there isn't many option nearby. It is a carpark near to the main road and the train rail. Noisy. There isn't to much space but also not to many people. The toilet across the street was really dirty we didn't use it. We survived! Din't have any problem

Great place by the main road, but the road was very quiet. One of two toilets accross the street in the little park was open during the night. So previous comment is not correct.

Topp!! Det fanns 4 av oss för 6 platser totalt. I motsats till presidentens kommentarer var frihetskampområdet mycket lätt angivet, med markeringar på marken. Staden måste ha gjort detta nyligen. Jag behövde inte använda toaletterna så jag kan inte säga för öppettiderna, men det finns 3 i närheten. Jag sov extremt bra, inte störd alls av bullret. Allt ensam i min campervan, kände jag mig säker. Jag rekommenderar det!

Inget speciellt men tyst, och bättre än de andra alternativen på kartan. Lite buller. Toaletter i den närliggande parken stängdes på natten.

Vi parkerade baserat på de senaste 2 kommentarerna, eftersom vi inte kunde hitta några slutgiltiga kartor eller markeringar själva. Denna plats är inget fancy, men det gör jobbet. Vi använde Main Street badrum 5 minuters promenad bort, de var bra. Ett bra ställe att nå Waitomo tidigt.
