One of the most beautiful tracks on both islands. There are various routes to choose from. The tracks are easy—they mostly follow contour lines, with gentle ascents and descents and no steep slopes. I really enjoyed them, with a few mini steps, some river crossings, and a short stretch along railroad tracks, which was also fun. There are signs with information about the local mine. I recommend stopping here, we were completely alone in the parking lot. You can sleep in the parking lot - SC only

Vackra promenader från 30min till 4+ timmar. Var ganska upptagen när vi kom dit vid middagstid så det skulle vara bra att gå tidigt som parkeringen kan få full snabbt. Vi läste alla informationsskyltar som vi gick och fann det riktigt intressant. Mycket att lära sig om området. Det var super coolt att se aal de gamla järnvägslinjerna intakta.

Massor av fin utsikt och promenader (från 5 minuter till 5 timmar) Var försiktig när det regnar det finns några promenader du inte kan göra

Ett antal valar som sträcker sig från lätt till medellång svårighetsgrad. Få en karta från Te Aroha informationscenter först. Vackert klar ström på parkeringsplatsen. Batteristämpel kvarstår på parkeringen. Följ promenaderna till järnvägarna, tunnlar & lutning. Perfekt för familjer med yngre barn. Carpark kan inte vara säkert att campera över natten när höns ibland kommer ut för att leka.

We went hiking for 2 hours. Nice if you have the time but not a must do of the region in my opinion. The best part was the one that runs along the old rails. No particular difficulty.

Not many comments so I'll add one. Just did it today, it was definitely worth going ! many tracks available for all levels, we didn't go all the way to the top but still did 2 hours. And all along the way there are little mining things (rails, caves, machines) to enjoy

Native bush walks with a variety tracks taking as long or as short as time available. Stout shoes needed.Historical gold mines from 1881 & the rail lines & steep inclines (3) to explore. Definitely worth a look.
