Only come here if you have a guarantee of good weather. You're isolated, with 30 km of gravel road to contend with. Apparently, the view is superb. But with three days of rain and clouds, we couldn't verify that :( The Wi-Fi is good when it works; a power outage left us without a connection for 24 hours. The hosts are very friendly and do their best to make your stay enjoyable. The cost is expensive at $120.
“Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for your kind comments about us. We'd just like to claritfy that the power outage you experienced was due to a national grid issue. We do have a generator on site, so all essential services were operating as normal, unfortunately the only thing affected was the Wi-Fi, which does require the main network to be functioning. As a remote high-country location, weather can be unpredictable. The road is a council maintained public road and while we do our best to make this clear before booking we understand this may not suit everyone. Sadly the weather itself is something we can't control. We appreciate your feedback”
10/10 would recommend! Beautiful view, lovely cabin, very nice owners. Perfect for anyone who wants a secluded nature experience but still want to be comfortable.

Stunning spot, well worth the money. Unique location and the best site we stayed on in NZ by far. We were lucky and the weather was beautiful so we had the most amazing view of the stars and the milky way. Owners are lovely and very responsive. Would definitely stay again. Word of warning though - you need to travel 33km up a gravel road which is a little bumpy and dusty but this place is absolutely worth it 10/10
