Called sandfly bay because in the wind the sand flys
Agree that sandfly in the name is a scam but all other features are there! Steep sandy track is like walking on a vertical beach, downhill is a big fun but back uphill strenuous exercise. Also good for overnight SC
Currently beach access is closed, lookout still open.
Incredible beach. What a pleasure to see a preserved and wild area. Let's all make sure to keep it as it is. We saw sea lions. We stopped just before the beach to get a glimpse without disturbing
The sea is very beautiful and there are two sea lions
Incredible beach! We were alone with the sea lions for more than 3 hours! It can be accessed from both sides! The first trail for normal people and the second at the end for adventurers !!! Too much fun !!!
Its an amazing spot! But is it really so difficult to READ THE SIGNS?! They are not placed there just for fun!!! All the 6 people who were down there with me ignored them and went straight to the spot where the pengiuns come out, when the pengiun came out they walked towards him to get a better shot and the pengiun fled back into the water. I had to tell them to move and as soon as they were behind the signs he crossed the beach and went to his nest. Penguins are really shy and dont come out of the water to go to their nests if people are blocking their way! There are many signs in the dunes and on the beach to not access the very right part of the beach. Plus are there 4 signs before accessing the track down where everything is said about where you can go and where not to. There is just ONE RULE really, to not block the penguins from crossing the beach. Is this really so hard to understand? Start thinking about others and not only about yourselves and the instagram-picture you want!
We have seen several sea lions. Unfortunately no penguins. It's a steep sandy way down there. Wear good shoes an bring a coat, it's very windy!
Very, very nice place... Seals are chilling everywhere, all along the beach... Went there at lunchtime around 4 p.m.... That's probably why we didn't see any penguins!
