Perfect spot to stay for a few nights. The site team so friendly & helpful. Great amenities, amble hot water (especially on these cooler nights) and within easy walking distance of town and directly across from the water. Highly recommend you stay here on your travels through NZ

A quirky little holiday park that you can’t book online! However, I was able to book in the day before. Facilities are clean and it’s in the perfect location to check out the old town and see penguins.

Good clean facilities, lovely host, next door to steampunk park, walking distance to Scott’s brewery (up there with best pizza ever!) great beer, walking distance to historic centre, close to penguins. Park does need a spruce up .

Largely overpriced: 40$one person without electricity, while I've paid 25 other places in NZ. Small lots, few vegetation. Looks more like a parking lot. Penguins are close by. No wifi if out of office time!

Perfect location, facilities were a bit old. Hot showers without timer.

A basic campsite; you pay for the location, which is perfect for seeing the penguin colony and the town center. The reception staff are friendly. If reception is closed, you check in by filling out the form at your arrival. It seems you can also call or email in advance to book. Be careful driving at night; there may be penguins on the road.

We were welcomed so warmly by the receptionist, and we had an amazing spot for our 7-meter campervan. She told us that in the evening the penguins return from fishing and we saw so many! It was an absolutely unforgettable experience. We couldn’t be happier! The facilities were great as well, very clean and super welcoming. Highly recommended!

Arrived a few minutes after 7pm and the office was closed which was ok as there were instructions at the door about arriving after hours, did as instructed and left a payment slip in the drop box with clear instruction that I would pay cash in the morning, I popped out to get cash at 7.45am ,two minutes after I left to get cash I got a fairly rude sounding phone call saying your in camera and haven't paid. How about giving the benefit of the doubt before making wild accusations. Won't be back.

Great spot! Highly recommend! Location is amazing, short walk to town and to the penguin colonies. Bathrooms are very clean and shower was great. Good pressure and hot. Wifi is great, connection throughout campsite. Kitchen facilities, we did not use but looked good. We had a powered site for 2 adults at 67$, happily pay again.

Great location for seeing the little Blue Penguins, and for strolling into town for the old Victorian buildings & stores. Zena the receptionist is lovely, super-friendly & helpful. It’s a bit snug & compact, but still accommodated our huge campervan.
