การทํางานบนถนนใกล้เคียงรถบรรทุกขนาดใหญ่ที่จอดรถบนแคมป์ในเวลากลางคืนโดยใช้พื้นที่แคมป์ พื้นที่เล็ก ๆ ที่เหลือสําหรับนักแคมป์มีความหนาแน่นมากเนื่องจากรถบรรทุก พื้นที่ยังไม่สม่ําเสมอ แคมป์ที่เลวร้ายที่สุดใน Wanaka ควรหลีกเลี่ยง!

It is obvious locals don't like free campers around here. About a month ago I camped there overnight and people came in the middle of the night and threw egg shells at cars. And last night some people came and were doing donuts on the parking lots which would throw gravel rocks everywhere and there were screaming and shouting and honking... I had to call 111 because I was scared. It is a shame because it is a nice parking spot but be aware..

Good spot to camp just before Wanaka, only a couple of minutes off the main road. There is however construction work on the bridge and the carpark is also used as a work site.

QR code doesn’t really work as it said only 1 van with 9 available spots but only 4 left when we got there however thought it was a decent spot, bit of traffic noise up until about 8pm and needed a stone to level the van out but had a decent nights sleep here

Same again. I arrived after checking the responsible camping site capacity. It sajd it had availability. Seems a bit pointless having the QR code to sign in/ register your vehicle with the responsibile camping site capacity. To then arrive and find the lot is full. I arrived and was under the impression there were 6 slots still available. Not fair on drivers coming a far distance to be disappointed and needing to drive around to another location which may also be full.

I had read the reviews and we arrived at 5:30 PM on March 13th. There was only one spot left. People don't register their presence using the QR code, so don't rely on the site's availability. I did register. The place is very quiet with a possible walk along the river. Five cars parked outside the designated spaces and received a ticket early the next morning; there was a notice on their windshield.

Only 10 spots.. Almost full at 5pm.. Terrain okay and flat, toilets further away but dangerous because you have to cross the bridge. Please take your trash, your toilet paper and tissues !! There's nothing complicated and there's no smell to put it in the trash bag !! I always put my toilet paper (I'm a girl) in our trash bag and there's no smell so please take care of our beautiful planet and think about the animals !!

If you come late at night you cannot see the signs, I parked along side 9 other vans, we all received $400 fines at 6:20am The signs have been placed at the very far back behind bushes and scrubs out of sight I’ve attached a photo of the the hidden no camping sign

I especially wanted to thank the officer who fined us and the 20 other vans present that night, outside the permitted 10 spaces, $400 each. At 2:13 a.m., when everyone is asleep, he makes 20 x $400 = $8,000 in 15 minutes. I wonder if there's any real prevention involved or if it's just large-scale extortion organized by the council… The principle behind these campgrounds is good for preserving the country, but in peak season when everything is full, what can be done?

Found toilet paper dropped in multiple spots. Stop ruining freedom camping for the rest of us you animals.
