Only 4 spots so arrive early, we stayed one night late April and were the 3rd spot at around 4pm! All 4 full by 7pm. Quiet location, felt safe, police were around on the morning but no bother they seemed to be checking things were quiet? Robo toilet other end of the car park, open during daylight hours. Nice reserve and bike tracks nearby. Good view of Kapiti Island

Great place to stay, very calm and quiet during the night (even on a saturday night). Locals were friendly and had a chat. We had a stunning sunset and saw some beautiful birds. There was a clean toilet which even played music haha.

Very lovely campsite with a clean robo-toilet nearby! The toilet appeared to be closed after 8pm.

Pretty cool spot, decent toilets. Only problem, some local kids came up to us to tell us that at 8pm people would come and ask us for money to stay on the pitch. Of course it's false and it was meant to scare us, but we left because we didn't want to be bothered and disturbed during the evening.

Sehr sauberer Ort. Wir kamen um 18:00 Uhr an und es war leer. 4 Plätze für kostenlose Campersite. Und Toiletten sind am Eingang.

Ein bisschen verrückt vielleicht, aber nach dem Freiheitscamping um Neuseeland für 8 Wochen war dies mein Lieblingsort! Ich blieb zweimal - einmal Ende Februar und dann wieder Anfang April Im Februar kam ich um 1 Uhr und die 4 Plätze waren um 5 Uhr voll; Im April gab es immer noch freie Plätze die ganze Nacht. Es ist absolut atemberaubend, den Fluss, den Fluss und dann das Meer auf der anderen Seite der Sanddünen zu sehen.

Eine gute und vielleicht bessere Alternative ist Otaki Beach.
