The issue was not the free camp. But a creepy man was there with his car and he started following me. First, he came to park with the other campervans when he saw me at the free camp entry. And then, after nightfall he came to park right next to me. I didn't feel safe so I started my car to go to another free camp, and he followed me on the road. I went to the police the next day, to report the incident. Be careful, especially if you are a solo traveller woman.

We were there Feb 26th for one night. A lovely place by the river. Water skiers were using the river. As some have said it's rather close to the highway an the noise can be bothersome. There is a toilet and sink with running water. A nice green place for the night.

Ein wirklich schöner kleiner Ort! Friedlich, obwohl die Straße oben ein wenig Lärm erzeugt, aber die Aussicht auf den Fluss ist schön. Die Toiletten könnten definitiv ein wenig Reinigung benutzen, aber sie sind da, mit einem Waschbecken und Seife – das ist ziemlich selten auf einem freien Campingplatz! Das Telefonsignal ist schwach, aber immer noch vorhanden.

Plenty of space, a bit loud because of the main road, the toilets worked, but were not the cleanest.

Very close to State Highway 1, so loud road noise. Also full of boating and jet-ski traffic (so fishing a no-no). Just a toilet block and feels like a lay-by. Should have gone to a more peaceful side of the lake.

Plenty of space, good alternative if horahora domain is full. Also a great place before a visit to Hobbiton movie set. Pretty flush toilets with a sink to wash your hands (no drinkingwater). Minor downside is that it is on the side of the road.

Perfect place to pull over for the night. Enjoy the sounds of birds and the beautiful views of the water, hills, and trees. Only negative is the road can be a little noisy, but not bad at night and also what makes it convenient! Rolled in around dinner time and plenty of space. On site toilet was very clean.

A beautiful view of the river. When we arrived there was still plenty of parking, but it was the off-season. You have to park on the grass. However, the toilets are dirty. There's no place to throw away your waste.

Beautiful and hassle-free. Just arrive and park. It was quiet. There's a lake that creates a beautiful landscape. However, the bathrooms are terrible and you can't use them

No power, but clean toilets. Though if it rains they will be wet. They also didnt have lights at night. Beautiful view. We stayed on the night before going to Hobbiton. I would stay again for a night.
