Glen Helen Lodge is shut. The hike starts in a car park just off the highway. It’s an easy fifteen-minute walk to the gorge, which has lots of water and decent lighting. (The cliffs are very exposed to the sun in winter.) There are other, more spectacular gorges, but this one takes very little effort.
Resort is closed but you can tracking to gorge. 800m 15mins
This is now closed due to Covid I think. No fuel or anything available. Even the road is closed off.
A quiet spot and a wonderful evening atmosphere at sunset. The walk to the waterhole takes about 5 minutes.
