You know when you go to the pool and there's a shallow splash pad for babies? Alva is kind of like that children's area. The water is very shallow and you can walk about a mile out to another strip of land, which I'm assuming the ocean is behind? Its quite bizarre looking actually, a little inlet surrounded by land. There are still waves and crabs and shells, but you can't see where the water comes from. There were kite surfers here today, its peaceful and beautiful. An older couple sat on the beach holding hands, very cute. A family was barbecuing, and a few people walked down the beach with their dogs. Nice bathroom too. Lots of shaded spots and lifeguards nearby.
