Cool bit of history - inside the boot there are many photographs of the good old days! Def worth a look
Fun stop & photo opportunity. If you want a break from the miles of sugar cane & banana plants, the golden gum boot should bring a smile to your face.
The golden gumboot is a must for any FNQ tourist and local alike. Historical photos adorn the interior, including a hilarious comic from the local rag dated from the 70s, and a spiral staircase asends to a magestic view of the main street and the smoke stacks of the local mill. I was disappointed that I couldn't buy a golden gumboot at the base. Got some good happy snaps though
There are stairs in the boot and you can go up and have a nice view of the across sugar mill
