Great place to stay. Clean toilets with coin operated showers. Safe with solid ground for parking/camping. 5 minute walk to cafe for food and drink
We felt really safe, lots of other campers around us some with kids. Nice big playground next to the campsite for the kids to play on. Impeccably clean. We were going to go to the free restaurant stop closer to port Augusta but turned around after reading a comment about someone else feeling unsafe there. Fantastic rest stop, clearly ran with love 💕
Lovely local people and very clean ♥️
We stayed at Iron Knob overnight ,very rustic town ,but the camp site roomy, and very impressed with new toilets and shower facilities, toilet paper ,hand towel and hand wash ,worth giving a generous donation of $10.00
Just an update to say that this is still a great little campsite. There are plenty of places to park and the toilets are clean and well maintained. There is a clean shower which can be had for $2 (don't forget to bring a couple of $2 coins) and the park is right next to the post office, which appears to act as a general store.
Great donation camp, has clean toilets and they are trying to get showers working after a truck took out the electrics for the $2 machine😩 and if you have time to pop in to the golf club for a meal they would appreciate it 🙏
Very well kept campsite, so busy when we stayed. Facilities were very new and clean. $2 coin operated shower. Pay by donation
Shower broken toilets full of flies
Thank you for this lovely place Iron Knob!! Nice kitchen area and nice toilets. Very peaceful!
Great place to stay! Clean and quiet. Toilets (including one for disabled), plenty of seating area, barbecue spot - all neat and tidy. Rain water available and recycling bins too. This is a local community project so please don’t forget to donate!
