An amazing campsite, the best we have stayed in NZ over 3 months . The cowshed is open 24/7 . It is home from home with great muffins and coffee . We loved the honesty boxes , takes you back to the time when people trusted others ! The wood burning pizza oven was a real treat and you can make your own as thirty sell the freshly made dough and ingredients. All the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable about the area . Everything was spotlessly clean . A beautiful indoor/ outdoor are . Pretty gardens . An outstanding spot next to the river and sea . This campsite had now tarnished all the others we have stayed at ! We didn’t want to leave and we will definitely return. Thank you Gentle Annie x
Quiet park on the edge of the river. Amenities block is dated but clean.

Great spot but owner a bit strange and could have mowed lawn.
“hmmm not sure how to reply to that .... but regards the mowing - the grass in the heat of Summer is not cut as short as we would other seasons, this is to avoid stress and excessive moisture losses”
