A few unique displays the collections are quite cool

Very large and diverse museum about the city, the creation of Mt Egmonts, the beach collection of the last 100 years, Maori artefacts and the wildlife of New Zealand!

Very impressed with the Maori artefacts here. Our favourite so far. It is presented in a way that informs us of the turbulence the European settlers brought and, ultimately, the destruction of the native way of life. The exhibit about the mountain is also very informative.

This is a combined museum and a library. It is really good and I enjoyed learning about the history of Taranaki and there's also a bunch of artwork on display. The wildlife exhibits are especially good. It's open everyday, I'd definitely recommend it.

Next to a great, free museum there isn't only free Wifi, but also a drinking water dispenser next to the entrance. There you can fill up your water bottles. Great stuff!

This facility was a nice way to spend a couple hours indoors after too much sun from hiking the summit the day before. We liked the museum, library and free wifi
