The views on this side are amazing, different from the other side and gorgeous at sunrise. Best place I’ve camped at. Paradise!

Drove this way from Tekapo in a 7.4m camper and it was fine. No issue at all and the views are amazing! Plus it’s so quiet you can stop for photos pretty much all the way.

Road seemed okay but still there are big holes. Apart from that we could NOT find this place. Not worth it, it takes you quite a long time to get there because of the gravel road

The gravel road was being graded today, it's super smooth. It wasn't bad before though! Too bad for the recent logging though... Kind of is a buzz kill (pun intended)

Thank you Campermate for bringing this places to my life! This road is way better than the other one to Mount Cook. The views are awesome, specially when you pass the junction to Tekapo. The road is gravel, yeah, but it’s not bad. We made it easily with our Campervan and was awesome. We even swam alone in the lake ? Afterwards, you can head to Tekapo and have lovely views of Mount Cook. Súper recommended! @claudiamary

The view is awesome but the risk you take in a camper maybe isn’t worth it

We did drive with our van today 20th October 2018. The gravel road is just a normal gravel road, not hard to drive on and beautiful landscapes all the way. We drove from lake tekapo to lake pukkaki ! :)

Worst gravelroad I've been on in NZ. Had to drive 15 kph certain parts to avoid shaking the whole car to bits. Would recommend maybe driving only a little bit onto the track and turning back. Or getting a vehicle that handles offroad well. Barely any other people. So thats nice.

The road is really hard with a campervan but you will be alone with the Lake and the Mount Cook for a little swim!

Take the road and get lost in the many paths on your left coming from Twizel you will find great spots there and without too many people
