Gorgeous lovely private remote spot. None of those spastic tourists, only locals. How it should be. The river is heavenly. The most pure crystal water I've ever seen. There was a family with some little kids swimming down in the main bit, and I find conventional toilets a bit difficult so I decided to go upstream 1-2ks and curled a fat one out in the water. I then took a different rout back as to not bother them, but did hear their screams and cry's which was amusing. Will return.

Beautiful river just down a small track. Lots of camping space, a bit muddy in winter. Down side would be if you had a trailer or low car. Gravel road is okay but two small streams to cross. Super easy with my 4x4. Oh and no phone signal.
Very nice campground with a lot of space. Lots of wasps and sandflies but all very low above the ground. Two toilets and water not suitable for drinking so be prepared. River with crystal clear water so kids can swim. No dump station. No reception.
No phone service once you turn into the valley (about 25 min bef campsite) **
Terrible experience. The place is about 10miles down a normal road but then dirt track. The campsite is swarming with sand flies and if they weren't bad enough, wasps and bees. The toilets were full of flies as people didn't shut the door. Only good things were that there was plently of space of open grass for a tent and it was quiet. All in all, would not recommend the 30 minute journey off the main road to go there.
Beautiful drive leading to a lovely spot by the river, easily accessible for vans. Some trails nearby too. A few people passing by looking for gold by the river
Nice camp feels like in the middle of no where stairs down to swimming hole to rough for us but enjoyed our stay Sun to hot for sand flies so all good
Beautiful little campsite. Not a lot of level ground. Steep track down to the river. Our 5.1m caravan struggled with the last ford across the road. Suitable for smaller vehicles. Dog friendly if you get a DOC permit.
