Do not go here if you have a 2 WD

Got stuck before there for 2 days because the river is too deep and impossible to drive back without chains because of the icy steep road... Fml

Amazing campsite with great facilities and the most stunning views! The road wasn’t bad at all but make sure to check the weather ahead. We got here without trouble after a week without rain. Everything was perfect exept a group of young people partying and trashing the hut - please remember that lighting a fire in a fire hazard area is a big offense....

Really good campsite, there is a house with tiled stove, water and benches a toilet and you are in nature. The approach is nice, and there are a few rivers, but there you can get through with normal cars, a Subaru Forester (first generation) has done it in dry conditions. The toilet is clean, but it is 40m from the campsite. The campsite is a bit out of the way. Conclusion: for those who can do without a shower for one to three nights and want to camp in nature it is a good place.

Just perfect for a get away for a few nights. Nothing to do except chill. Great.

BE ALERT! Road conditions are very bad cause of heavy rainfall. Beginning of the road is not bad but gets even worser. Don't go with a 2wd or a 4wd with low clearance! Recommend to take the other camping more west next to town until they could fix the street.

Avoid in winter. Muddy ground, river to pass. Unless you have a 4x4 it is a kiwi who told us.

Amazing place!! Beautiful views of mountains and if cold get in the hut for some warmth of the fire. Perfect!!!

We were the only ones there. Very peaceful with a nice view of the mountains as the sun goes down. Hut is useful for water and cooking. Toilets were hard to find.
