Not hike, rather a climb - but really fun and enjoyable, I highly recommend! Just take it slow walking back down again. The close view of the waterfall is really beautiful as well (about 15-20min to get there). Location is kinda misplaced on CamperMate- just keep driving like 5-7min towards Milford Sound and you’ll find it :)
Certainly a work out! But lovely achievement when you get to the top. Certainly not suitable for pregnant or people with disabilities. Take your time coming down- esp in the rain!
Beautiful climb- be weary it is very steep and at points you have to climb up a small vertical part using the tree roots. But the view of the waterfall is worth it! Stunning
Absolutely stunning waterfall 15 minutes up the track (even through sign says 2 hours). Almost our favourable part of Milford Sound!! Wear sturdy footwear and prepare to scramble up roots and very steep climb. Was dry when we were there, but I imagine would be very slippy just after rain. A must do!!
The sign does say 2 hours but that’s not to the top of the waterfall. Walk 10-15 minutes up a VERY steep roots and then you’ll hear it get loud and open up a little - go right and there will be footpaths made to see the waterfall and beautiful clear water
Not sure how it's 15mins climb when the sign says 2 hours. Anyhow, worth a quick pullover and enjoy. I tried climbing and got maybe 30mins in before I found it unwieldy with my backpack. It requires tree climbing and maybe damp too. So good footwear is required.
No where to pull in due to rockslides in the area
Did anyone get to the top?? Haha. We walked more than one hour and decided to go back (and it took us 2 hours to get down) cause it was too hard to follow the arrows and the overgrown path, like someone said here it was jurassic park all the way. Great adventure though!
Amazing waterfall in a meadow after 15 min. Was magical to stand there; see the sun shine on the crystal clear stream and hear the birds. However it was a VERY challenging and muddy climb (!) there, but totally worth it. NB! The sign says its a 2 hr walk, that’s the sign the the orange marks you want to follow but you turn back after 15-20 min (by the the waterfall) in case you don’t want to do the whole walk.
