Ik was helemaal alleen als een solo-vrouwelijke reiziger en had geen telefoonsignaal. Ik moest om 2 uur 's nachts veranderen in een andere vrijheidskamp, omdat een auto multispile cirkels rond het parkeerterrein reed, in elke ronde direct achter mijn auto stopte en hongde.

Toilet Out of order No internet signal Nice beach but we didn’t sleep in this place

A constant stream of cars going back and forth all night, hiding behind a specific tree looking for something specific? You never know. It was really scary for a solo woman; I didn't sleep a wink, I was alone at the campsite. Especially since a car decided to park right next to me at 3 a.m., as if trying to force me out (there were no other cars and plenty of space). Anyway… avoid it.

Nice location, safe from the wind and quiet. 3 campervan seats and 1 for tents. Separated from small hills that leaves a very pleasant privacy during a quiet night by the sea. Toilets, tap and toilet papers on site. No telephone reception. Beautiful beach against the bottom!

Beautiful beach and cliffs at sunset. Level pitch and very quiet night. Great views of Mt Taranaki on the road in. Toilets good but as others have said, take a torch!

We pulled in at 4:30pm and saw 6 campervans. We didn’t want to break the rules so moved on. Beautiful site though.

Nice spot by the beach, didn’t feel spooky. There was no service, the toilets where clean but dark so take a head torch even in the day. The sign says 3 vehicles max, but there is space for a few more.

We travelled as a couple with a dog, in winter, maybe that made a difference... We were a bit spooked and unsure if going to this spot because of the previous reviews.. but we still tried it out and it has been fine with us. We arrived at 8pm, maybe 2 cars drove in&out around at 9/10pm, but nothing else "weird". Friendly walkers the next morning. No phone signal.

Mooie zonsondergang op het zwarte zandstrand, maar nul telefoonsignaal. De toiletten waren open toen we aankwamen, maar ze waren opgesloten om 7:30 uur en waren nog steeds niet open om 8 uur de volgende ochtend.. Het zegt zelf opgenomen hier maar er is een patch van gras met een teken voor niet-zelf opgesloten voertuigen dus we trokken hier in onze slaapwagen en had geen problemen. geweldige plek als je naar Egmont de volgende dag gaat. We kwamen er rond 5 uur voor onze plaats en een paar auto's verschenen maar moesten vertrekken omdat het vol was
