Stayed 3 nights here, great spot. Good phone signal, level spaces, lovely walk around the lake. Lots of traffic noise early morning though you could minimise if you parked in the spaces away from the road.

This is a great spot! The gardens are absolutely stunning so definitely check them out! Freedom camping is only permitted between 4/5pm(cant remember which) and 9am - not sure how much this is monitored though. I arrived a little earlier and had no issues. Good phone reception. Some traffic noise early morning but nothing major.

For pet owners - no dogs are allowed here, not even in your vehicle, there are huge fines if caught. The last 6kms or so are via a generous single lane track (not sure why people are so scared of this, its literally huge in terms of "single lane" and plenty of space to easily pass other vehicles) good phone reception (spark) plenty of spaces. It fills up a lot during the day but once day hikers leave theres heaps of space so if you arrived later you'd have no issue finding a spot. Good toilets. I didnt see any bins though, so take rubbish out with you. Great views of Taranaki.

Honestly one of the nicest spots on the north island. I stayed a few nights over labour day weekend - it was busy when I arrived on Saturday afternoon but was still able to find a spot. By sunday it had cleared out massively. Its a busy site overall but big enough that you could arrive late and still get a spot. There were signs advising not to go in the water or let your dogs in the water due to quality issues at the time but no one seemed to take any notice and some idiot let their dogs chase geese right into the middle island of the lake. Lovely walk around the lake and the coastal path with great views of taranaki. Clean toilets but no bins in the freedom camping area - there's some located in the day parking areas though. Good phone reception (spark) nice flat spaces. There's two car parks- one for self contained and one for non self contained which has 4 marked spaces clearly shown on the ground. Its a little confusing when you first go in but easy to figure out.

Schöne Stellplätze direkt am Meer, kostenlose warme Duschen, saubere Anlage, kleiner Shop, Münzwaschmaschinen. Sehr nette und hilfsbereite Betreiber. Blieben für zwei Nächte.

Grand camping idéal pour attraper le ferry le lendemain matin (environs 20 min de route). Le bloc douches et toilettes est très grand et il a de la.place dans la douche. Très propre le personnel vient régulièrement vérifier. Grande cuisine avec four, plaque etc... Mais il faut tout amener (casserole, poêle, ustensiles etc...). Il y a un espace.baebeuce également a disposition.

Nice enough spot. We were fortunate enough to be allocated site no. 186 which was perfectly levelled, as the other powered sites were in a slight slope. Toilets and showers were pristinely maintained. Wifi was slow. A comfortable walking distance to the lively restaurants and shops.

Nous avons séjourné 1 nuit avant de faire la tongariro. L'emplacement est top et le cadre idéal (proximité des parkings et navette). Douches et toilettes propres. Par contre dans la cuisine les plaques électriques ne marchent pas vraiment. Pas de chauffage dans l'espace commun mais au moins on était au sec. Tout s'est fait par mail.

great quit place. We were alone. Indeed not easy to find but see the Haiku pathway sign it leads you directly to the place. Great coffee and hot bread at katikati hot bread shop!!

Carpark had 4 spots. Water 1 min walk past the skate park. Toilets 1 minute walk to marina. Lots of little bins for rubbish and recycling scattered nearby. The close by restaurants smelled amazing!

Det är en av de största DOC Campsites och på helgen var det extremt trångt. Jag stannade bara en natt här. Toaletterna är rena och det finns kalla duschar. Jag bokade online i förväg och bara dök upp till platsen eftersom ingen var på kontoret. Lätt tillgång till stranden.

Rätt vid vattnet, vacker utsikt. Toaletter och duschar är grundläggande men rena. Endast 10 minuters promenad till Treaty Grounds.

En riktigt trevlig plats med mycket trevliga ägare! För bara $ 25 får du verkligen mycket, WiFi, varma duschar, ett utrustat kök och snabb tillgång till Hot Water Beach. Ägarna visade mig runt och på kvällen delade hemgjorda öl med mig. Du kan också tvätta tvätt för $ 5 vardera och låna lådor för stranden gratis.

Härlig campingplats med allt du behöver: heta duschar, soptunnor, tv-rum, pingviner... Super vänlig personal och butiken har ett mycket brett urval!

En mycket trevlig campingplats. Platserna är ordnade med omsorg och är mycket väl underhållna. Det finns ett trevligt gemensamt rum med kök, samt rena, välskötta toaletter och duschar. Vacker utsikt över floden. Kauri-museet i närheten är värt att se.

Tyvärr var tvungen att flagga detta som negativt för att fånga uppmärksamhet för framtida resor. Det är en vacker campingplats med både floden och stranden så nära! Men vi har lämnat vid 12am på grund av kraftigt regn. Vänligen VÄLKOM OM det finns någon nederbörd du är säkrare att flytta med. Vattennivån rose meter inom ett par timmar. Om du stannar här i vått väder, vänligen hålla ett öga på detta

Anständig campingplats med vänlig personal. Läge är okej, det är lite av en promenad in i huvudstaden.

Ska annonseras som ingen WiFi eftersom det inte fungerade alls även i hotspot-områdena. Badrum var tillräckligt rena och platsen bredvid butikerna var bra. Bussar är bara 50c för att komma in i huvudstrandstaden Airlie. $94 strömlösa 2 personer 2 nätter.
