It might seem pricey but you spend a couple hours here, learning a lot about the history, there a train ride and gold panning. Excellent attraction!
As a young couple (19) we still had a great lot of fun here. Although it was pouring down we enjoyed looking around, gold panning, going on the train and learning about the gold rush! It isn’t too expensive for a 1/2 day experience and if you have the time I would recommend it! It is not like a theme park with people dressed up and heaps of attractions, but it is still an incredibly fun day out.
Personally I thought it was a ghost town not a shanty town. Paid for 4 was there for 2 hrs... Train conductor was the only person dressed up. I thought there would be fun and theatre about the place! There wasnt. There were lots of people and school holidays . The hologram theatre you could hardly see. The best thing was the playground ( although they wouldn't have had one in the gold rush!) I thought it could do with a spruce up... China town was shabby and the garden vege wasnt even really looked after! So Wenthought we would do An old timer photo... You need bookings and the lady at reception didnt say or offer the upsell in the ticket... Infact the pricing wasn't even at reception. Not impressed at all!
Excellent attraction the kids loved it so much that we were there from 11am until it closed at 5pm. Great, friendly, helpful staff, informative signs and audio spots. The gold panning is a must do with kids
What I thought would be a one hour trip ended up becoming 3 hours-ish We took heaps of photos here great fun
Surprisingly good. Well rebuilt houses, and a fully functional train from the 19th century, wich you get to ride for free. Spent roughly 3 1/2 hours there.
Must visit
Great attraction. The entry fee may seem hefty but it's well worth it for the amount of time you spend here wandering around the themed exhibits and reading all the interesting panels on the West Coast history. Amazing up close experience with a steam train and enjoyed learning how to plan for gold for $7 - got to keep my gold as well!
The park is empty ... looking for gold is a plus but very fast for $ 7 .. We found the park pretty but too expensive for our taste ..
Rather not bad! It's easy to stay there for a whole day by reading all the panels and listening to everything. We managed to stay 3 hours without getting bored!
