Most expensive and worst place we have stayed so far in NZ. Amenities are very dated for the price and the noise from surrounding housing is loud and goes well into the night. Do not recommend

Magnifique Free camp au bord du lac Pukaki avec vue sur le Mont Cook ! Beaucoup d’emplacements disponibles pour véhicules certifiés. Le camp se rempli assez rapidement malgré tout. 4 toilettes sèches sont situées en bas des parkings, vers le lac. Le terrain peut être parfois en pente avec pas mal de cailloux.

Really lovely spot to stay, very friendly hosts and lots of lovely animals dotted around! Can give Matt a text with an eta (as we were arriving later on), and flexible check out too. Would really recommend!

Beautiful and peaceful spot. We were only van there. Toilets available and power was offered. Like others have said need to check in with gas station first for security - they were open until 7 last night. Well stocked shop and very reasonable fuel also.

Super camping ! Nous avons payé une nuit ici car aucun freecamp dans les alentours, et nous ne sommes pas déçus. 62$ pour 2 personnes en site non alimenté sur un espace en herbe. Un acceuil très chaleureux a la réception. Les installations sont récentes et propres, beaucoup de douches (avec eau chaude). A 10min a pied de la plage de hot water beach, avec un joli sentier aménagé. Petit café et pizzeria également dans le camping. Très bonne réception wifi, même sur le site en herbe un peu éloigné.

A beautiful campsite on lakes edge. Lake was chilly but family swam. Toilets clean and sanitizer supplied. Returned on way back from Queenstown. Beautiful sunset. Highly recommend.

So peaceful. Free hot showers. Hardly anyone here and plenty of space if there was. We pulled right up to the lake and enjoyed sunset and sunrise. Just follow the link to make a reservation.

Very good area especially if you park near the toilets and change room areas of North Beach( Mon to Thursday only) Nice level spot, right next to the ocean. 2 toilets open all night.

So very lucky to have New Managers Zeph and Bruce welcome us to their hidden gem...what an honour to spend a few days here. Riding from Mistletoe to Anikiwa, (27km, 2h 20m, ~800m climbing) was a highlight with arguably some of the best vi of the sounds. Right beside the Q. Charlotte walkway with bountiful supplies of ice creams, and a selection of basic meal options for anyone running short. We were able to get our 7.5m motorhome on site, and out again but reccomend a chat with the Managers firs

Really lovely site, toilets were clean, and there was a great sink and electric barbecue. Stayed for 2 nights, and slept well with the sounds of the ocean. I would have been happy to pay the fee, but no one came to collect. Great spot, only 10 cars can sleep here so recomend to arrive at 5pm

Biggest free camping spot that we’ve encountered. Lots and lots of space, 4 drop toilets and very nice views on the lake and mountains. About 45 mins from Mount Cook Village. The “uneven surface” really isn’t that problematic. It’s gravel and rocks so a couple holes but nothing bad. We would absolutely recommend!
