Wir kamen um 8:30 Uhr und es gab immer noch viele Plätze zur Verfügung. Die Straße war beleuchtet, so dass wir ohne Probleme die Grabenstraße nehmen konnten. Die Toiletten sind an der nahe gelegenen Tankstelle. Keine Probleme während der Nacht.

Plenty of spaces, but was busy by the time we arrived. Sheltered from the main road, careful if you arrive in the dark as the ground is pretty uneven in places. Good cafe onsite which opens at 0800.

Great place to stop over. Plenty of parking on grass if carpark area is full. Nice quite spot behind the museum, which opens early with friendly staff serving up great coffee and food.

Toilet with code, impossible to use

Schöner großer Raum und sehr kühl. Sie fühlen sich hinter dem Militärmuseum niedergelassen und sind tatsächlich von der Natur auf der anderen Seite umgeben. Schöner Ort, um zu stoppen, da es ziemlich ruhig und viele Tankstellen ist. Öffentliche Toiletten sind alle nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß. Telefonsignal war auf anständigen Ebenen verfügbar.

Einfach zu parken überall auf dem Gras im Freiheitscamping-Gebiet, sehr saubere öffentliche Toiletten nebenan an der Tankstelle.

A quiet and large (I think for about 20 motorhomes) free camping area with clean toilets on the other side of the road by the petrol station. Great view of the high mountains, when they're not shrouded in clouds.

Great spot with toilets not too far across the road. Didn't go to the museum but I would stop by and try it out on my way back through. Great location for exploring Tongariro Nat Park and Lord of the Rings locations

Not the most cosy location but good for one night. I was there with a few other campers. Quiet. Toilers are across the street next to Caltex. The one on the site ate locked (from the museum).

Good location with a great mountain view. There are toilets, but it's a bit noisy with the train and road nearby.
