🐊 Day 1: Darwin – Ease into the tropics
Arrive in Darwin and settle into the relaxed rhythm of the Top End. Spend the afternoon exploring the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, or cooling off along the Darwin Waterfront.
For an immersive wildlife introduction, head just out of town to Territory Wildlife Park, where kangaroos, wallabies, birdlife and crocodiles roam natural habitats. As evening falls, make your way to Mindil Beach Sunset Market, where food stalls, ocean breezes and fiery skies signal the perfect start to your road trip.

🚙 Day 2: Darwin → Kakadu National Park – Crocs, culture & floodplains
Distance: ~290km
Hit the road early and drive east toward Kakadu National Park, a place where nature and culture are inseparable.
Along the way, stop for the adrenaline-charged Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise on the Adelaide River — a front-row seat to the Top End’s most iconic predator.
Inside Kakadu, visit Bowali Visitor Centre to understand the region’s seasons and stories before continuing to Ubirr, home to world-renowned rock art galleries. Climb to the lookout for sweeping views across the Nadab floodplains — especially stunning late in the day.

🦅 Day 3: Kakadu – Wetlands, waterfalls & wide skies
Distance: ~100km
Wake early for one of Australia’s greatest wildlife experiences — the Yellow Water Billabong Cruise. Glide past crocodiles, buffalo and prolific birdlife as the wetlands come alive in the morning light.
Later, cool off at Maguk Gorge (season permitting), where a short walk leads to a crystal-clear plunge pool framed by escarpments.
For a completely different perspective, take to the air with Kakadu Scenic Flights, revealing the vastness of floodplains, rivers and sandstone country below.

🌴 Day 7: Litchfield → Darwin – One last swim
Spend your final morning chasing waterfalls and cooling off. Float through the cascading pools of Buley Rockhole, then head to Wangi Falls, where rainforest surrounds one of the Top End’s most iconic swimming spots.
On the drive back to Darwin, stop at Berry Springs Nature Park — a local favourite and the perfect place for one last dip before returning to the city.
