amazing campsite, park ups beach side, basic facilities, dishwashing stations, cold showers and well spread out toilet blocks. take it slow on the drive in, narrow gravel roads but doable and well worth it, a couple of good hikes from here too
Omg what a site! So big and spacious toilets where clean. We parked here to do are walk before moving on. Right on the water front so lovely! Would loved to have drove up earlier the night before and stayed here
The drive was not as bad as I thought. Even though I was driving a hatchback 😂. Just be careful coming up, slow down a lot during tight corners. When I was coming to those corners, I honked a couple of times to give warning and show my preparation for the turn. Other then the drive, worth coming here 100%. Running water, toilets and a beautiful, beautiful view. You also get enough camping space for yourself.
One of the best places to stay in the North Island. Beautiful views right next to the beach, nearly empty in spring. We had a little phone reception with Spark. The drive is not as bad as people say, just the last few km’s can be rough but if you take your time it’s no problem. Although I can imagine in summer it can be a hassle when it’s busy.
A breathtaking location. The gravel road was sometimes scary for me, but managable. Beautiful spot, peaceful and quiet🌿 non-flush toilets, cold shower, sink and basically everything you need!
We visited but after experiencing the road in decided not to chance it with the wet weather forecast. Wouldn't do so in anything other than a 4wd as it's very narrow and precipitous. Avoid at night. Beautiful spot for sure and only 1 other there when we visited. No phone signal
Absolutely amazing spot, super calm and quiet. Cold showers, sink, toilets, space for cooking … everything you need in front of a beautiful view.
Beautiful location facing the sea! Cold shower and clean toilet. 25km gravel road to get there. I had a Toyota Estima campervan and didn't encounter many problems, although I had to drive very slowly! (20km/h) Not so much trouble passing other vehicles. I highly recommend this little haven of peace! One NZ phone signal ok and wifi available only for booking online near the "reception".
Stunning. Clean drop toilets, cold water showers, enough phone signal to send texts. Gravel road to get here was rough but not that bad. We're sleeping literally right on the beach front and there is tons of space all around us. One of our favourite campgrounds in NZ so far (after nearly 3 months of travelling around).
It’s one of the best campsites on the north island! We loved it! The view and beach are above amazing. Way better than Flechters bay - we would recommend to stay at Port Jackson and drive to Flechters bay to start the ‘Coromansel Coastal Walkway’. Yes the road can be tricky but it’s totally okay and can be managed. We drove there with a 7.4 m motorhome and it’s was absolutely worth it!! I don’t know why almost nobody is going there - so once again give it a visit! There is good internet signal.
