Wow, wow,wow...what a gem of a spot. We only intended to stay one night but made it two..Parked up on the river bank $25 pn 2/9/25 unpowered ,powered sites available too.. Caretaker was great though at times had to contact him on mobile but nothing was a problem even when asked for late checkout .. Amenities were spotlessly clean with squeege mop in each shower, camp kitchen good with washing machines and driers all with a great view of the river..highly recommend this for a stop over ..
Such a lovely place. We went with no expectations and we had a great surprise. Very clean, nice view, laundry, kitchen, showers and a kind gentleman assisted us over the phone and when we arrived. Highly recommend :)
Stayed 2 nights. Campers now use the newish amenities in the building adjacent to the park. Very clean and caretaker was friendly and helpful. Had great meals and coffee at the pub and the Wild Olive Cafe. The park is beside the river and offers spacious sites and peace and quiet. A relaxing stay.
Nothing special. You do have a nice view on the river, but very old amenities (not so clean). We also had to give 50$ deposit for the key to the amenities. So keep that in mind. You have to go to the Hotel to arrange your site. No further explanation. It was a little strange. 48$ for a powered site, 4p.
WHAT A GEM! YOU MUST STAY HERE! My wife, two kids and I are staying here for a couple of days on our route to Brisbane. We didn't know what to expect of this place but wow we are sooo happy. The campsite is right on the river where there is a jetty for jumping in. The water is over 4 metres deep at the jetty and the water is perfect. Beside the jetty is a man made beach for relaxing. Amenaties are old but pristine... Everyone loves a pristine latrine! A stines throw away is the hotel, bottleshop, butcher, baker, Spar and Pharmo. You have everthing here to ensure a stress free couple of days. The views are to die for and the wildlife is incredible.... The fruit bats at dusk are the size of dragons! For 2 adults & 2 kids in a motor home its $35 a night. Worth every penny. Last point - The baker is new to town. He is a newly retired Army soldier who is trying to make a go of a bakery. The town is small so every bit of business he gets is appreciated. As a current serving Digger, can i ask we all support him!
We ended up here for one night as we could not find the Richmond River campsite. Powered pitches along the river, clean but old facilities, this is not so much a holiday park but a park for permanent residents so you may be the only tourist. The town is very run down but there is a Spar and pharmacy.
