Lovely spot with a contracted caretaker onsite. Very clean ans accessible. Beaches are dangeroys due to rips and currents, but fishing and paddling were fantastic. Paid campsite plus day fees for your vehicle are required. Highly recommend if you dont mind driving a few kms off road.
Ok little camping spot. Toilets and showers (cold) were quite clean. Very busy and limited spots with little to no privacy. The beach is pretty and within walking distance. Worst part is the road: gravel and super bumpy.
Nice little camping ground, really close to the beach and lots of short bush walking tracks. The road in is pretty rough, but nothing a 4wd can't handle. The beach was really rough when we were here and lots of blue bottles, but very beautiful and quiet. There are plenty of nice flat areas for caravans and tents. Lots of shade and shrubs for wind protection and privacy. There were about 8 other campers here in late summer but we felt like it was just us! Plenty of pit toilets with enough toilet paper for everyone. Nice and clean. Cold showers. We saw a sweet Potoroo, which I'd never seen in the wild before, so that was cool, lots of lovely birdlife too. There's signs of previous fire damage with blackened trees surrounding the area, but even they hold a certain beauty. It really depends what you're looking for. Give me a site with cold showers, pit toilets, no power and trees over crowded caravan park with hot showers and flushing toilets, any day ?
Awasome place to camping in the nature and enjoy the sunset and sunrise. Good trail to walk. The access route is a bit bumpy, but is ok if drive carefully. BRING YOUR OWN DRINKING WATER.
Very bumpy road, not pleasant at all with a 2WD. Also, the area has been severely damaged by last summer's fires, slowly recovering. So it's not even that nice atm, plus not much shade.
Turned up at 7pm and the office at Diamond Head had already closed at 6, so we just headed up here and camped. The next day we woke up to a ranger fixing a failure to pay notice on our car. Headed to the Diamond Head office and paid, which wasn’t a problem. 24 AUD for two people and a campervan. A word to the wise: the access road is *not* a good idea for a non-4wd.
Great campground, cold showers, drop toilets, can have fires pay fees at Dimond head
Nice position and we got to watch dolphins dance in the waves the next morning. And kangaroos chilling in the evenings :) very quiet. Inconvenient to drive up to the next campsite to pay for the stay. The road was very bumpy going in and out which was very annoying with a trailer. Despite no power or water, really liked this spot :)
Close to the beach what is very nice! But only has 3 showers with very cold water. No flush toillets and both not very clean. Don't forget to pay at the diamond head info as there is no reception at this campsite..
PREVIOUSLY drive to diamondhead to pay! Looks great, very quiet, kangaroos run or hop over the place
