We took the cute ferry to the campground and that was already quite enjoyable. Facilities are good but it can get a bit noisy with all the people and kids everywhere. Otherwise a nice experience PLUS at night we walked to the lake and saw plankton! What a glorious moment!
If you have vehicle can enter west head rd, pay park entry, drive along about 10 mins or so and will see signs to camp ground via a trail. You have to leave car here and walk down, easy down, wide but bit steep in parts, harder walking back! Note park at top gets locked up at night, about 8pm summer time. Great for mountain bikers/cyclists who can ride into park and down trail. Still need to pay for park entry, have not been for a while so cannot remember the fee. The basin is an excellent location and great for safe swimming for children also. As mentioned, many get the ferry across from Palm Beach.
Really enjoy camping in here. Great facilities. Will be back for sure
You can get there by ferry from Palm Beach Wharf!
Website says not accessible by vehicle.. I expect you have to park nearby and carry camping gear to the site. Therefore probably not ideal for motor camping but still looks like a great site!
