Very beautiful place to observe some wildlife in natural settings. Small parking on left with clear information board, leading to a small walk with three lookouts. We were there in top dry season and saw some wallabies, one snake, many kinds of birds (some with young) and on the drive over the dam itself some crocs (one doing a roll for us) and many wallabies. Extraordinary great start of our 10 day holidays in the top end!! Walk: 1.5hr up and down (you can do it faster, we took our time to enjoy the serene environment with lots of birds noises) Drive up the dam: 30-45 min up and back. At the end is another great lookout place where you can sit up high and enjoy birds and wallabies. We camped at the Bark Hut Inn campsite. Awesome place, about 30 min. Up the road towards Jabiru. Great people, awesome shop (for camp stuff and souvenirs), nice swimming pool, kitchen near the sites with electric water kettle and gas BBQ. €49 one night powered site for 5 adults in one safari 4WD rooftop tent July 2022).
Hidden gem, worth to go even in dry season
