We have travelled truly a lot and really don't have a problem with simple facilities - but decided NOT to stay after we took a look at the horribly dirty and neglected toilets. Absolute HIGHSCORE on fuel-prices at 3,69 /l of diesel (compared to 2,49 at Alice). With less than 0,10/l to bring it here a total rip-off. :( So, AVOID and bring as much fuel as you can, instead.
Didn’t sleep here but $5 for a hot shower, good option as other roadhouses nearby don’t let you just pay for the shower.
I did not sleep there, but had a hot shower for 5 AUD. The shower takes a bit of time to warm up, but then, it is alright. The pies are not homemade. The coffee is nice.
This was a great free unpowered site next to a place that would serve you a cold beer and a hot meal and you have a great view of Mt Connor from the cool of the Bough Shed WHERE ARE NO FLIES. I don't really care how clean/modern the dunnys are if they flush its a bonus and people that complain that they aren't up to spec need to think a bit harder about what they've signed up to travelling to Central Australia omg.
If all you want to do is free camp, it’s a reasonable spot. The toilets are a bit rundown and the showers cost $5, but it’s a huge lot and there’s some shade where you can pitch a tent. The food was expensive and not very filling compared to other roadhouses along the Stuart Highway. Unfortunately, the proprietor was downright cantankerous. Maybe he was having a bad day, but he was irritable and impatient, particularly with young adults. (I never saw him snap at a grey nomad, to his credit.)
Stayed one night very run down tolets discussing .
4$/pers for hot shower. It’s NOT the building with the sign shower, indeed there are located just behind (no sign on them).
Free camped one night, can do powered at a cost but no water, had a campfire ?
For a free campingsite (unpowered) it‘s ok, but the toilets are not ok. Just a one-night-thing
Very good site however there are a lot of mice, we had one in our van
