The Kings Canyon Rim Walk is a fantastic loop trail. The short climb at the beginning is the only strenuous part of the 3-4 hour hike. You walk along the edge of Kings Canyon with breathtaking views. There are beautiful lookouts along the route, and you also have the option to visit the Garden of Eden.
Worth the hike up, breath taking views
Sealed road if you drive from Uluru
The 6km rim walk was amazing. We did it with school age kids and they loved it. We were so impressed with the facilities (toilets, signage, first aid) for a free national park.
I'm not sure if the long way to the canyon is worth it (had an 2WD and drove the normal street). The Omiston Gorge was for me more impressive. The short work on the base is shit. The Rim Walk was nice and take us a bit more than 2 hours and we started at 9:30 am. It isn't that hot at the moment. Free WiFi and Drinkwater available.
The rim walk was a fun hike! The 160 km dirt road after the West MacDonnell Ranges isn’t too rough and has good opportunity to see wild horses, donkeys and camels as we saw all three ? T&G ????
Great loop really great with beautiful views and great rocks! A big climb at the start then quite easy afterwards. Please note: trails closed after 9am if temperature above (or in anticipation of) 36 degrees. Toilets, drinking water and wifi available around the parking lot ?
Definitely worth it to do the Rim Walk. It took us 2 1/2 hours :). Take enough water with you and catch the sunset by chance.
We did the rim walk. The climb was steep but not as long as expected. Great hike, but it goes a lot up and down. You also have to pay attention to his steps. Duration about 3 hours. We liked it. Absolutely much to drink and headgear take.
We walked at noon, so it was a bit hot but it was definitely worth it. The steep ascent of the RIM Walk is nasty, but then you are almost flat only. Great view and great pictures!
