Total Gem of a campground. All the facilities, but you feel like you are remote. Get the guide from the office and do the self guided nature trail. Just wish I could have stayed longer..
Spacious campground Recommend for overnight stay Has fuel
Not wifi available today
Pretty decent stop. Tours pretty simple! hand over equipment, Lead you to fields via your own car, but gems checked back at office is part of the deal and Steves a fun guy.. Burgers etc delivered to campsite and Devonshire scones / vanilla slice 10/10 Only neg was the male cleaner around the female ablutions for nrly 2 hrs and was in and out so much you wouldn’t know when he would walk in!
Access to Gemtree is via a stretch of single lane blacktop. Take your time and watchout for other traffic and animals on the road. $27 for two adults in an unpowered site. Sites are large and have own fire pits. Strictly BYO wood. Showers were cold despite donkey boiler going. Tried different times of day without success. Facilities were clean. Only one washing machine. Best to pre book sites, evening entertainment and tours to avoid disappointnent, especially at during the dry season. Choose to particiate in a zircon or garnate tag a long type tour. 2 adults on a zircon tour is $75. Tour starts at 8.15am and you are asked to return before 2pm for gem grading. Zircon field is approx 15kms from Gemtree on a unsealed road (Mud Tank Fossicking Area). Peter was great as a host of the zircon tour.
Well organised establishment with clean amenities and tours and cafe. A BBC welcome put still for a shower, laundry and fuel. Only 25 litresper vehicle though due to limited supplies.
Very good place to stay. Staff friendly. Toilets and showers clean. Fires allowed. Water
Lovely campsite. Everything you need on your journey on the plenty highway. Facilities were clean. Showers were hot and powerful. Drinkable water from tap. Peaceful and quiet. Multi-million stars accommodation. $25 unpowered for 2 people per night. We didn't have time to do the gem tours but they looked great.
Warm and friendly staff, great amenities, spacious camp area and lovely pool. Dinner can be delivered to van, excellent gem tours. Highly recommended outback stay. $25 un/pow
